I was just suprised that they're handing out Win 10 for free...

Who knew, many moon ago, that MS would even give that a thought D:

They really want people off XP and Windows 7... This will also help facilitate more Windows Apps for tablets and phones... Good move IMO... :)

I usually don't trust free products, there is always a catch.
Let's see if it works as it should do ( not Vista or W8).

Windows 8 was one fail too many from these morons. They'd be suicidal to charge anyone for another operating system so soon. Kids can't wait to get a mac, they just can't wait. I see 99 macs for every PC out there.

Its only free for a year, then Win 10 will take out a chunk from your wallet.

    Ya a year from release...

I am a Microsoft Fan boy... :p :) They've provided me, and a lot of others, good carriers... :) I work with a lot of their products and others too but they definitely do well with their Server products. I've worked with them all.

I don't defend what they do sometimes but at the same time I have to a little. :)

    Wait, wait, wait....

It's a free upgrade, that then starts charging you as a "service?" God good i'm done. Where's a third party OS for PC that can run games?

No... It's not going to be charged "as a service"... It is a free upgrade. :)

The upgrade scheme is a big shift for Microsoft, which now considers Windows to be "a service," Myerson said several times during the event -- not a product that customers have to keep buying each time Microsoft releases a new version. Microsoft will now keep Windows updated to the most recent version of the operating system over the "supported lifetime of the device," Myerson said.

Of course things can change since it's not released yet.

Ah, that's not what Googie said above. I got the same impression after reading some other comments. They are losing control of their messaging pretty fast! :p
